Vantara is a large-scale wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation initiative spearheaded by Anant Ambani. it was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024, it’s located within the 3,500-acre green belt of Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery Complex in Gujarat, India.
Despite its glossy presentation, Vantara has sparked significant controversy:
a) Doubts persist about how Vantara acquires its animals. While it claims to "rescue" them from abusive or overcrowded conditions.
b) Vantara exemplifies "conservation capitalism," where wildlife becomes a tool for making profit rather than pure ecological preservation.
